I love book referrals. Especially from people who I trust. I will read each and everyone of these. I have also found the joys of Libby. I read on my Kindle way too much. Libby has even the financial stakes on that level. Thank you Gina. Recommend more. Enjoy your holidays.
Thanks for this. The Cher memoir is only volume one--she's going to have to get some John Deere equipment to spill all the dirt she's got. Have you ever seen the Fritz Lang movie of Rogue Male? I swear to God that George Sanders actually says, "We have ways of making you talk."
Well, I, for one, am very glad you became a rock critic. I consider you in the same category as Greil Marcus and Greg Tate with always something both interesting and unique to say. I turned to your column in the Express first, for example. I still remember your ongoing discussion of Digital Underground, Tupac being beaten up by the OPD, etc, and advocacy for the Subpop strain of musicians. So thanks.
Mead, Bateson, various Cold Warriors, LSD, and 50s utopian thought on society and gender and how it played out. (Written by someone that went to all the archives and dug into source material rather than regurgitating tales of Leary and Ram Dass.)
That book looks great, Alan! I will check it out. And thanks very much for the kind words, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. It's made my day.

You too, Dawn! I hope you enjoy at least one of these.

ROGUE MALE was made into two really interesting films, but the 1941 Fritz Lang version, MAN HUNT, is great.
